We just finished an interesting week in Pine Island Sound where we saw some warmer weather and a good tide as a result of the full moon. It’s the first time this year we’ve seen water temperatures in the low 70’s in the backcountry. The trout bite was solid as usual out on the grass flats and we also saw the redfish and snook get more aggressive along several of our mangrove shorelines and flats deeper in the backcountry. This is a good sign for this spring. With the cold front that just blew through and with an even stronger one approaching early next week we’ll have to see how our fish respond. It won’t be long before the warming trend becomes permanent and we transition into a spring pattern. Come with us and see for yourself and we’ll show you a Florida you may have never seen.
