We’ve been working between fronts and even though the days have warmed up the water temperatures are only in the mid 60’s. We’re seeing quite a few redfish around the mangroves. Fortunately, even on the higher tide stages many fish are still staying out of the bushes. Most likely, they’re soaking up the warm sun while lying over the sand or mud bottom. It’s providing some sight fishing opportunities; but as usual, they’re wary in the clear water. For the most part, a well placed cast at about 40 or 50 feet has real potential. It’s a great time of year and the cooler air temperatures are really comfortable.
