May from the bench

As we sat down at the fly tying bench for this month, May. Our water temps have warmed up and fish are on the move. As a result, pilchards or scaled sardines have moved back into the harbor from offshore and are now a staple for our favorite gamefish. We’ll now tie and throw baitfish style patterns from both natural and synthetic fibers. Patterns like seaducers and bend backs using natural fibers and peanut butter type patterns from Puglisi fibers.
