t’s sure been breezy lately and it looks like the rest of December will also be challenging. However, when the conditions are right the bite has been pretty good. In particular, the spotted sea trout bite in the sand holes of the turtle grass flats in Pine Island Sound. I typically like to work these holes on low water and push my way back to some of my favorite shorelines when the tides comes in. Here, I have been seeing more redfish this year and have even put a few to the skiff. Small flies have been key and of course it’s tough to beat a clouser. We’ll keep an eye on water quality, so far its been good away from the coast. We’ll keep you posted. The bird life has been incredible as there have been hundreds all over the flats feeding on the low tide. If you’d like to experience old Florida come with us and we’ll get you away from the crowds and all the noise.
